Signal processing and its implementation for LTE-Advanced
Gerhard Fettweis

Citation
Gerhard Fettweis. "Signal processing and its implementation for LTE-Advanced". TU Dresden, September, 18, 2009.

Abstract
Next generation cellular is already outdated in research, as standardization is focused on developing the standard thereafter: LTE-Advanced. This talk will focus on explaining the key algorithm ideas behind the improvement of LTE towards LTE advanced, the hurdles getting there, as well as the signal processing implementation challenges. We will need up to 40x more processing power implemented for LTE advanced over LTE, i.e. up to 1000 processors just for running the modem. Challenges, as well as possible ways forward will be addressed.
