UltraSPARCTM III -
First Silicon
On Thursday, May 20, 1999, Sun displayed the first working example of
the new UltraSPARCTM III
processor. Featuring 64-bit next generation
architecture, the high performance
UltraSPARC III family of processors
will have a clock frequency beginning at 600MHz and can be used in systems
with up to 1000 processors working together.
Volume production is expected by the end of 1999.
